The VVT solenoid is an electro-mechanical device that regulates the flow of oil to the VVT system. It is controlled by the engine control module (ECM) or powertrain control module (PCM) based on various factors such as engine speed, load, and temperature. The solenoid directs oil flow to the VVT actuator, which in turn adjusts the camshaft position.

COMMON CAUSES OF FAILURE
